Michelle van Dalen is a trainee attorney-at-law in the field of intellectual property law.
Michelle studied Law at Leiden University and subsequently completed the Master’s programme in Intellectual Property, Innovation and Technology at Utrecht University. During both her minor and her master’s, she also gained knowledge of privacy law. While studying in Utrecht, she was editor-in-chief of the journal De Juncto of the law student association JSVU.
At Clairfort, Michelle is part of the IP, IT & Privacy Team. Her work focuses on protecting and enforcing intellectual property rights and advising on contractual matters. She specializes in trademark law, copyright law, and design law. Also she advises clients on privacy-related issues.
Michelle works for a wide range of clients, from small businesses to internationally operating companies. She follows Clairfort’s guiding principle: providing clear advice and a strong, goal-oriented approach—whether that involves consultation and amicable settlement or conducting legal proceedings.
In practice, Michelle is involved in, among other things:
- taking action against infringements of intellectual property rights;
- assisting clients who are summoned due to alleged infringements;
- analyzing and drafting agreements, with attention to both IP law and the law of obligations.
Michelle is a member of the Benelux Association for Trademarks and Designs.
