Maarten Heintges is a senior IT & IP attorney-at-law and certified Privacy Specialist
Maarten advises clients in the areas of IT and contract law, privacy law, and intellectual property (IP). His work includes providing legal support for the development, purchase, and sale of software, advising on personal data and other types of data, and drafting and negotiating various contracts and terms. Maarten also advises and litigates in IT, privacy, and IP disputes.
Before studying law, Maarten studied Artificial Intelligence and gained experience in the IT sector. As an attorney-at-law, he initially worked for nine years at an IP/IT niche firm in Utrecht, advising a range of clients, from tech startups to retail multinationals. He later worked as a freelance IT lawyer. Maarten has since been re-admitted to the bar and is now part of Clairfort. In recent years, he has mainly specialized in privacy law (CIPP/E).
Maarten is a member of the Benelux Association for Trade Marks and Designs (BMM), the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the Dutch Association for Information Technology and Law (NVvIR), and the Privacy Law Association (VPR).
