Evert van Gelderen is an attorney-at-law specialising in intellectual property and commercial contracts. He is a founding partner of Clairfort.
Evert is a specialist in the fields of law governing copyrights, trademarks, trading names, designs and portraits. Amongst other things, he provides advice on the protection of names and products, and litigates in relation to intellectual property right infringements and counterfeits. Apart from this, he provides assistance for the purposes of negotiating and drafting commercial contracts, such as operating and licensing agreements. He assists national and international businesses in various industries, the fashion, cosmetic, toy, automotive and household electronics sectors, amongst others.
Before he established Clairfort in October 2017, he was a partner with Banning Advocaten in Den Bosch and De Gier | Stam & Advocaten in Utrecht. Evert was responsible for the intellectual property practice of both firms.
In addition, Evert regularly gives talks in his areas of expertise, he is a member of the editorial team of IE-forum.nl and the Copyright Lawyer Magazine, and is a regular guest at BNR Nieuwsradio. Evert is enterprising, professional, friendly and open-minded.
He is an active member of various professional associations, namely, the International Trademark Association (INTA), Marques, the Vereniging voor Auteursrecht [Copyright Law Association] and the Beneluxvereniging voor Merken- en Modellenrecht [Benelux Trademark and Design Law Association] (BMM).
